Magic, culinary, and seducing Prague...
Anyone who came to the city of the hundred towers and the hundred names, fell in love with its magic. After the fall of the iron curtain in 1989 important things have changed and since then Prague has gained more and more attractivity. Therefore today even a visitor with high demands can enjoy the Czech capital and be spoiled here.
The famous artist is alive...
The father of the hotel-owner and film-maker Martin Hoffmeister was an important and complex personality of the Czech cultural history. Adolf Hoffmeister (1902-1973), the famous writer, painter, cartoonist, poet, dramatist, diplomat, and journalist, professor, and, for two years, director of the crafts academy of Prague, was not only an educated intellectual, but also a bon viveur with a love for good meals and selected wines. He was an elegant globetrotter and a friend of art who knew very well the magic power of Prague and who spread the news about this mysterious magic of this wonderful city all over the world. Adolf Hoffmeister invited his many friends, among them prominent politicians and well-known artists, and they came to visit this magic town. The unique gallery with works of Adolf Hoffmeister has become a special attraction of the hotel. The portraits of world-famous personalities of the first half of the last century, the way the author got to know them, was inspired by them, and draw them, gives this luxury hotel a very special personal note and an original human dimension.
All in reach of a small walk
The car may just as well stay in the underground car park for days. Everything in Prague that the visitor is longing for, can be easily reached from the Hotel Hoffmeister. Whether it is the castle of Prague, the Hradshin with its beutiful terrace gardens, or whether it is the Carl's bridge and the quarter of Malá Strana with its reed roofs and cosy pubs. A walk through the narrow alleys of the old city will lead also to the old town square ("Altstaedter Ring") with its historical town hall clock. If you have comfortable shoes, even a walk to the Wenzel square is not all that far.
